Eye color is not the only factor when choosing a hair shade, but it is a noticeable one, so this article looks more closely at two common cases: green and brown eyes.
Green eyes most often suit warm and copper tones — redhead, honey blonde, caramel and copper strands underline the iris and make it more vivid. Cool ash tones, on the other hand, sometimes “argue” with green and slightly mute it.
Brown eyes, especially a warm shade, work beautifully with chocolate, chestnut and copper — a harmonious, warm pairing. Colder brown eyes (“almost black”) also look good with deep cool shades — dark chocolate without redhead, graphite notes.
An important caveat: eye color is only one factor. Skin undertone, natural hair color and how dramatic a change you want matter just as much. That is why I always give a final recommendation at a consultation, seeing the person in real life or in good photos — not from one general “eyes → hair color” chart.
